As the chilly breeze of October sets in, it's time to embrace the eerie ambiance and transform your humble abode into a haunted haven. It's never too late to start! Whether you're aiming for a classic haunted house aesthetic, a whimsical Halloween wonderland, or a modern spooky chic look, finding the perfect decorations is key. Here’s a guide to help you discover the best places to shop for Halloween decor and turn your home into the ultimate scare zone.

Spirit Halloween

A classic yearly store that pops up everywhere this time of year! If you're aiming for a one-stop shop for all things Halloween and Scary, Spirit Halloween is your go-to destination. Offering an extensive range of decorations, costumes, animatronics, and props, this store is known for its variety and quality. From lifelike skeletons and giant spider webs to fog machines and spooky lighting, Spirit Halloween has everything you need to create a bone-chilling atmosphere.

Target

Known for its affordable yet stylish home decor, Target provides a wide array of Halloween-themed items that cater to various tastes. Whether you're looking for cute and whimsical decorations for a family-friendly vibe or sophisticated yet spooky pieces for an adult gathering, Target has an assortment of options to suit your needs. Plus who doesn't need an extra run to Target?

Hobby Lobby

Although Hobby Lobby no longer has Halloween specific decorations, their “Fall” section is still great for all things PUMPKIN. This year I opted for a mix of fake and real pumpkins on my front porch so I could reuse the fake ones, (makes it more money friendly in the long run!) I love Hobby Lobby’s prices and honestly their quality isn't half bad either.

Amazon

The convenience of online shopping meets a vast selection of Halloween decorations. Nothing quite beats buying bats from the comfort of your couch. Some of my favorites are the plastic bats that I'm sure you’ve seen all over pinterest. Stick those suckers everywhere! Currently I have them on my front door, mirrors in my home and, new to this year, I stuck two of them together, used fishing line, and hung them outside over my porch so they look like they're flying in the wind! There's also some great life-size skeleton options there as well.

HomeGoods

A personal affordable favorite! A big tip in making this store more of a successful option is to go in September for your spooky finds. They have so many great Halloween trinkets to fill those shelves but do run out of the good things quick, so be sure to go early! This year their Halloween “snow” globes were a hit.

Local

Lastly, be sure to check out the hidden gems around where you live! There are shops like Sunriver Gardens in Utah county, that offer great decor during the holiday season. Sometimes finding these places are a little more pricey, but you can always be sure to have original items!

Remember, the key to creating a spooktacular Halloween atmosphere lies in a combination of creativity, quality decorations, and a dash of personal flair. With these top destinations in mind, you're sure to find the perfect pieces to turn your home into the most haunted house on the block. Let your imagination run wild and let the Halloween spirit take over as you transform your space into a ghoulish delight!
