Calling curious minds and soon-to-be parents to pregnancy myths! As you expecting moms embark on the nine-month adventure of growing a tiny human, I’m sure you will find yourself bombarded with old wives’ tales and quirky beliefs. You’re not the only one, so let's separate fact from fiction.

Myth #1: "You’re Eating for Two!"

A classic line that gives pregnant women a free pass to indulge in all the ice cream, pickles, and pizza they desire. But hold up! Contrary to popular belief, your unborn child doesn’t have the appetite of a grown adult. So, while it’s tempting to blame those midnight snack cravings on your little bundle of joy, remember they probably aren’t the ones craving a popsicle. Now that being said, you are pregnant and most of the time already uncomfortable, your body hurts and you don't feel like yourself, so if you do want to indulge in sweets and treats every once in a while, go for it! Just practice moderation.

Myth #2: "Heartburn Means Your Baby Will Have Lots of Hair!"

The old wives’ tale, heartburn during pregnancy is about as inevitable as baby socks disappearing into the abyss of the dryer. If your heartburn is causing more discomfort than an awkward family reunion, feel free to indulge in some spicy food or some antacids. Just don’t be surprised if your little one ends up with a perfectly smooth scalp!

Myth #3: "You Can Predict the Baby’s Gender Based on How You’re Carrying!"

Ah, the age-old question that has relatives and strangers analyzing your belly like it’s a crystal ball. But let’s face it—your baby’s gender remains one of life’s greatest mysteries until the big reveal. So, whether you’re carrying high or low, rest assured that your baby’s gender isn’t determined by your ability to balance a watermelon on your midsection.

Myth #4: "Craving Sweets Means You're Having a Girl; Craving Salty Foods Means It's a Boy!"

Another gender predictor disguised as a snack preference survey. Cravings during pregnancy are about as predictable as a toddler's mood swings. So, whether you're devouring tubs of ice cream or single-handedly supporting the potato chip industry, rest assured that your baby's gender still remains a surprise until that long awaited ultrasound.

Pregnancy is a marvelous journey filled with twists, turns, and a healthy dose of crazy. Myths and old wives' tales are going to find you, it's inevitable, but take each one with a grain of salt and a smidge of humor. After all, navigating the wild and wonderful world of pregnancy is all about embracing the unexpected, savoring the sweet moments, and cherishing the journey!
