The whole season of fall is filled with some of the best treats in my opinion, and Halloween is the perfect time to spook them up or make the ones that are specific to being spooky! Whether you're hosting a haunted house party or simply enjoying the spooky season at home, there’s nothing like homemade Halloween treats to get into the festive spirit. Here’s a list of treats you HAVE to make this season, and ones I love making every year!

1. Witch Hat Cupcakes

Cupcakes are a classic party treat, but why not give them a magical twist for Halloween? Witch hat cupcakes are easy to make and even easier to customize. Start with your favorite cupcake and frosting flavors and top them with edible witch hats made from sugar cones and chocolate. These cupcakes are as much fun to eat as they are to make. Plus, kids can join in and decorate their own witches!

How to Make:

  • Frost cupcakes in green or purple buttercream for that witchy touch.

  • Dip sugar cones in melted chocolate to create hats.

  • Decorate the cones with sprinkles or icing to resemble witchy details.

2. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are a classic staple in many households I’m sure. There’s nothing groundbreaking about this one, except for the fact that they are delicious and make your house smell good! I also love that these cookies get better and softer the longer they’ve been sitting in a container, making them the perfect treat to make the day before or a couple hours ahead of a Halloween party!

How to Make:

  • Here’s the recipe I use and they’re delicious!

3. Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie treats are always a crowd-pleaser, and transforming them into Frankenstein’s monster makes them even more irresistible. These treats are easy to make, no-bake, and can be decorated in creative ways for the ultimate spooky snack.

How to Make:

  • Prepare a classic Rice Krispie treat recipe, adding green food coloring to the marshmallow mixture.

  • Cut the cooled treats into rectangles.

  • Dip the top in melted chocolate for Frankenstein’s "hair."

  • Use candy eyes and black icing to add a face.

4. Bloody Red Velvet Cake Pops

If you want a treat with a little shock factor, bloody red velvet cake pops are the way to go. These cake pops not only taste divine but also bring a touch of Halloween drama to your table.

How to Make:

  • Bake red velvet cake, crumble it up, and mix it with cream cheese frosting.

  • Roll the mixture into balls and dip them in white candy melts.

  • Use red gel icing to drizzle "blood" over the pops, making it look as though they’re bleeding from a bite.

5. Spider Web Brownies

Brownies are an all-time favorite, and with just a little extra decoration, they can easily turn into a spooky Halloween treat. The trick? Spider web designs made from melted marshmallows!

How to Make:

  • Bake a batch of fudgy brownies and let them cool.

  • Melt marshmallows in the microwave and stretch them across the brownies to create a web-like effect.

  • Add a few candy spiders for that extra spooky touch.

6. Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are a fall time staple and I make them multiple times during the season. To spook them up, I add Halloween colored sprinkles, or different flavors that are “Halloween” to me! You can make them your own and its a fave for all ages! My recipe is a secret (shhh) but there are lots of great tips and tricks online and recipes as well!

Halloween treats are all about creativity, and these spooky snacks are sure to wow your guests! Whether you’re looking for something fun for the kids or fabulous desserts for an adult Halloween bash, these recipes offer a mix of spook and delish. Happy Halloween!
