Each child's foot is unique and can vary in size from cute and chubby to little and petite. We suggest measuring your child's foot from heel to big toe (without shoes on) before purchasing, to determine which size is best for your little.

If your child is in between sizes, we recommend going with a smaller size in our soft-soled leather and suede baby shoes, since leather and suede have a tendency to stretch. For this reason, new pairs of baby shoes will look smaller than older pairs that have stretched over time.

When buying hard soled sandals and shoes we recommend sizing up.

How to Find the Best Fit

Sizing FAQs

How do I know when we need to size up?

When your little’s toes are pushing at the seam and the heel is sitting at the way back of the shoe. When a foot is growing in a soft sole, you will see the foot with push back into the heel and fill it out.

If there is a slouch in the heel, there is still room to grow.

What size do I get when we’re in between sizes?

  • Soft Sole Baby Shoes: We recommend sizing down as the leather will stretch.
  • Sandals: We recommend sizing up as the prong free buckle is adjustable.
  • Sneakers: We recommend sizing up for your child's comfort.

How does baby shoe sizing compare to sandal/sneaker sizing?

Each form (baby shoe, sneaker, sandal) is a little different. We suggest measuring your child’s foot and referring to the sizing guide for that specific form.

FP baby shoes follow a different sizing than the average baby shoe. Please measure to find the perfect fit!
